Looking for a good wireless mouse

#1Nazgl5LordofNazPosted 2/20/2014 9:12:03 PM
I alternate between gaming on my laptop and my desktop regularly, and the cord on my current mouse is starting to fall apart from all of the awkward motions and angles. If there's no difference in response times then I'm willing to spend the extra cash to get something that's just more convenient, so I'm starting to lean towards something wireless.

I'm considering the Razer Mamba and the G700s primarily right now. The two side buttons are absolutely required, and having one or two extra buttons around is nice, but after playing with a Steelseries Cataclysm for a long while now I know that having a dozen buttons laying around isn't doing me any good, especially when it's difficult or impossible to bind them properly in certain games. The other big draw is having the option to go wired for both charging and play, so I could feel a bit more at ease and continue playing while it charges rather than having to replace batteries or whatnot.

I've had more than my fair share of bad experiences with Razer and its idea of "quality", but I've never used one of their mice. What do people here suggest?

Do you play a lot of FPS games? If so I wouldn't recommend either of those mice, otherwise the g700s is decent.

Not that often. Never play competitive FPS, although I do delve into singleplayer now and then. Deus Ex, Crysis, Portal (hahahaha) off the top of my head. What exactly would be the issue if I did?

The sensors on those mice make them inconsistent for competitive FPS gaming. Meaning you will be less accurate with them, but if you're not playing Competitive Multiplayer FPS games it's not worry.

Accuracy is a heck of an issue in RTS and MOBAs as well, but if it's not awful I could live. Any recommendations?

I was sort of hoping it was something that existed. Without restructuring my desk I'm afraid I'm going to damage any standard, wired mouse pretty quickly since I switch fairly regularly, and two mice just feels wrong even if a pair of Deathadders runs me less than wireless anyway.

Does anyone have any experience with the G700 or S? It's looking like the best option for my needs, but I'm wondering what other people here think.

definitely not a bump
