Either because of graphics, gameplay, the story or the BGM, or a combination of the three.

Mine would be Bioshock Infinite. That scene when you first go and see columbia made me say Wow.

And modded Skyrim too. And MGR for all the slashing.

As soon as i booted the game, I knew i was playing the FPS that would revolutionize the genre.

When you leave Vault 101 in Fallout 3 and the sun stops hurting your eyes.

The suicide mission for ME2 (even if I disliked the game)

Seeing the nuke go off for the first time in Cod 4

Playing NES games for years then seeing Sonic on Genesis made my head actually blow up.

seeing games go from 2d to 3d back in the mid nineties was amazing. As for individual games, Metroid Prime, Shadow Of The Colossus, and Half Life 2 really blew me away the first time I played them.
