Any specific mechanical keyboards you could recommend?

I want to upgrade to the mechanical keyboard life and was wondering if there were any recommendations. I heard something about cherry switches such as red and blue. I tried blue switches at best buy with the blackwidow and really liked it.

I'd recommend Ducky keyboards. My original Ducky Shine has been great and comes in a lot of different LED colors and switch types. The only downside is they're expensive.

Mirco Center actually sells a few Ducky models, or you could use Tiger Imports like I did.

Edit: Oh, Tiger Imports is practically out of all of them again.

There are 4 mainstream switches; blue, brown, red, and black

Blues as you've already tried have a tactile bump and are clicky.
Browns have a lesser bump and are not clicky.
Reds are have no bump and feel smooth the whole way.
Blacks are Reds that take more pressure to press down.

There are tons of mechanical keyboards now from a myriad of brands. CM Storm, Corsair, Ducky, Filco, and WASDKeyboards are some of the more mainstream brands. CM Storm Quickfire series are decent quality and fairly inexpensive. Ducky and Filco are top quality and the Ducky Shine 3 seems like the de facto go-to LED backlit mech keyboard to go for. Haven't had experience with Corsair mech keyboards so others will have to give their opinion on them.

Had a CM Quickfire Ultimate w/ Browns for a week. Wouldn't work properly and CM support was sadly horrible so I returned and got a Cordair K70 w/Blues and love it.

The K70 is solid, and I think they have 3 different switches available.

You can spend $400 on a console and $400 on a cheap PC, or you can spend $800 to build your own and have the best of both worlds.
