How do I disable the annoying "USB device not recognized" message?

#1PsythikPosted 2/25/2014 8:49:00 PM(edited)
The Galaxy S III has a bug where it randomly decides not to send the device descriptor. There's nothing I can do to fix it, but I still want to be able to charge it via USB. Problem is that doing this causes the "not recognized" message to pop up constantly, and it's starting to get really annoying.

I told Windows to "hide icon and notifications", but the second I hit OK it resets back to "show icon and notifications". I also tried this solution, but I don't have the box that the instructions say to uncheck:

Wat do?

Chances are it's something like:
You don't have the driver installed for your PC to know what you plugged in. Ensure that you have gone to the device's manufacturer website and install the latest drivers for your device.

You don't have the USB drivers for your motherboard's chipset installed. Ensure that you have gone to the motherboard's manufacturer website and installed the latest chipset drivers for it.

You have a bad cable/bad port/the device plugged in is bad. Ensure that you have tried a different port, different cord, or the device into a different computer to see if it's damaged or not.
