In the market for a new laptop

#1HeartbreakKid37Posted 2/27/2014 10:12:54 AM
I travel a lot for work so I run through laptops every few years. Seeing if yall know of any good deals going on.

I play games on it but as of right now the most graphical intensive one is probably Diablo 3. Mostly some League of Legends. I basically just use it for games, surfing the net, and maybe watch a movie every once and again.

This is a problem.

Travel a lot+work implies business laptop with good build and warranty.

D3 means at least some concession to graphics.

This combination is going to be really expensive. I would suggest accepting really low performance on D3 and go for a good business laptop with multiple year NBD and accidental damage protection.

What kind of work do you do and how do you use the laptop while traveling? This determines what kind of CPU is suitable for you.

With a budget of $2k... I'd say the Razer Blade 14 is probably the best one you can get. It has great gaming performance, but it's also very thin so fit for travel.

I am a railroad engineer. I go from one place to another. I mostly use it in travel in a hotel. Its not like airports and constant travel. Its really either at home or at a hotel in my away from home terminal.

Build a sager from LPC, Don't waste your time buying the Bose of the laptop world, Alienware.

Can easily build a great machine for 1500-1600 (780M, SSDs, etc)

I can't recommend the Razer Blade other than the fact that it's super thin and light. $2000.00 for a 14 inch laptop with only 1600x900 resolution and a 765m is not a good deal and no where near the best laptop in that price range.
