Tried my 120hz LCD at 60hz and got screen tear in games like bf4 and rust.

I have had a nice 23" 120hz lcd for the last few years. I have been tempted to get a 27" monitor bt it would be 60hz.

So before I sold mine and purchased a new one I hooked a hdmi cable up instead of my display port and tried Rust and BF4 which in BF$ my PC gets 60+ fps on max settings.

In Rust and BF4 I noticed screen tearing with vsync off like I normally play. is this normal for 60hz monitors. Do most people use vsync?

Now I am not so sure if its worth getting a bigger monitor. I am torn. Wanted to ask some opinions.

Just curious... why don't you just turn vsync on?

Doesn't v sync give you a little input lag?

Yes, it does. In some cases, it can be pretty bad.

This is correct, if by some cases you mean no cases.

It's not noticeable by people.

Sounds like peasant logic to me.
"no one can see more than 30fps anyway!" "there's no difference between 720p and 1080p!" "no one can ever see more than 2x antialiasing anyway!" "AO just makes your framerate drop for no reason!"

It's extremely noticeable in some games, especially faster paced ones. Or you just have slow perception.

Just turn Vsync on. Input lag is only noticeable under extreme circumstances. Also get a monitor with good refresh rate. 2ms or better. Most people are on 5ms or higher....

Except for I don't say any of those other things.
