This is a split board - You can return to the Split List for other boards.

Tried my 120hz LCD at 60hz and got screen tear in games like bf4 and rust.

Doesn't v sync give you a little input lag?

Yes, it does. In some cases, it can be pretty bad.

This is correct, if by some cases you mean no cases.

It's not noticeable by people.

Sounds like peasant logic to me.
"no one can see more than 30fps anyway!" "there's no difference between 720p and 1080p!" "no one can ever see more than 2x antialiasing anyway!" "AO just makes your framerate drop for no reason!"

Except for I don't say any of those other things.

No, but you said equivalently peasant things.

Negative. What I said was not equal to those things.

"Less" is the word you were looking for.

Wow this took off. I always thought my 120hz lcd was overrated until i finally tested this all out today. There was just something missing playing games at 60hz with or without vsync. It felt less smooth and my response time or reaction time felt a hair slower.

Just felt really off.

Here is my lcd I have.

SAMSUNG S23A750D Black 23" 2ms Full HD 3D LED BackLight LCD 120Hz 3D
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001475

I have had it for 2 years now. I just built a new PC and sold my 2 year old PC so i thought I would also grab a new monitor. Thought 2 years gone by monitors should be way better than something I purchased 2 years ago.

I would like my LCD in 27" but o well.

Just an FYI 120Hz TV's don't even take a 120Hz input.

Any difference you're noticing is due to frame interpolation, not actual game rendered frames.

Monitors are not GPUs. Plus monitors are like fourth in line when it comes to things that matter in game performance, first being GPU, CPU, RAM but not by much then it's probably monitors. Plus most people upgrade monitors last imo. I just upgraded my 22' Acer monitor of like 4 years to an Asus 24' 144hz monitor but only because I got a pair of GTX 770s. I had absolutely no problem with my Acer monitor but I want to play at higher refresh rate with V-sync so I could get less input lag; which I do notice in the FPS that I play.
