This is a split board - You can return to the Split List for other boards.

Upgrading from W7 to W8.1 is giving me a huge headache. Any advice?

I can't even install W8 anyways, now it's telling me that I am not able to download it in my country or region...I live in the USA. WTF.

OK now it's telling me it cannot connect right now which is BS.

The reason it's booting faster is because it's going into hibernation instead of shutting down. It's a Win 8 "feature". Do a restart and you'll see your actual boot time, it will be much slower.

It's 17 seconds after turning it on from shutdown, and 22 sec with a restart. On 7 both those times are nearly double.

What point were you trying to make anyway? You really don't need to turn that feature off, and it's still faster regardless.

not sure where u got the double number from lol
17sec? 22 sec? i think u need a better SSD

well i have w7+840pro and it took less than 17 or 22 sec
just saying no hard feeling
