Will we ever be able to run games like Witcher 2 on any pc?

For example how pretty much everyone's computer nowadays can run Duke Nukem 3D no matter how crappy it is (unless its a SUPER barebones computer I suppose)

If so, when? 20 years?

Two reasons we wouldn't be able to.

1. It's a REALLY old computer that couldn't run it before, so obviously it still wouldn't be able to run it. (Think Duke Nukem 3D on a 486x66. That's the first machine I tried playing it on. Not fun.)

2. Compatibility issues. I know there are plenty of old games that won't run, especially without some kind of special program or something. I'd assume in the future, that will happen at some point.

Most new computers now can run Witcher 2 even with integrated graphics, you just have to turn down the settings. It will be a long time before your average netbook can max Witcher 2 though

Probably a lot shorter than that since integrated cards and cpus are starting to become very fast.

Obviously there may be some compatibility problems in 10 years or so due to the way windows works (although Linux has less of these issues, which is why I'm glad Valve is pushing steam for linux).
