screen capture better than FRAPS?

dont get me wrong it works awesome but a 4 minute video ends up being 9gb. Thats kinda excessive when my hauppauge 1212 can record nearly an hour of gameplay in HD while still being around that size. Unfortunately the hauppauge cant be connected to the pc so im stuck looking for something else. Is there capture software that records in good quality while not eating at hdd space or would I have to get a capture card?

Any suggestions on what to get? I would also like to stream games

Shadowplay/dxtory,/Afterburner

The reason its so big is that it records uncompressed video. Uncompressed is the way to go if you want the best quality and less strain on the cpu. MSI Afterburner has some encoding options so you could try that.

will afterburner allow me to stream games as well? Im not sure if uncompressed really makes that much difference if my hauppauge was compressing the videos. Here are some recorded gameplay moments from the hauppage 1212. I really want something thats gonna get that quality atleast
