How do you feel about aim assist in PC FPS?

This is really silly, after all, in real life we don't have some magical force that moves our arms in a way to assist our aiming a weapon.

In real life we can't run on walls, respawn, drop mechs from the sky either.

Well if the beta is anything to go by, the auto-headshot pistol is going to be hideously overpowered and does the playing for you. A little aim assist is nothing compared to a gun that literally plays the game for you.

I think it is fair in multiplayer because everyone cheats anyways..

But in single player it shouldn't be allowed...

That gun was fun and wasn't OP in my opinion. You had to get reasonably close, hold lock for 3-4 seconds and remain in those conditions before shooting. The assault rifle or a mad dash with a shotgun would end most pistol users fun. All you need to do is break line of sight and that game has incredible mobility. Not sure if the stealth 'ability' stopped lock but I imagine it might. Keep in mind this is before the upgrade. Once you get the range upgrade it does start to border on the "cheap hide in a corner and pop some fools" territory.

The AMPED version? That one is actually quite op. The lock on for a kill is even faster due to the extra damage.

Still, after playing the beta for half a dozen hours or so, I wouldn't say I was killed by the smart pistol any more than any other weapon. There are a LOT of options and you are quite squishy regardless of gun.

FEAR 3 had built in auto aim that you could not turn off and it made me really dizzy with the mouse. It's the only PC FPS I have ever played with a gamepad.

I'm a gamer, I care about games. I really don't care which platform it's on.

this is seriously like having the option of using macros in fighting games when using regular controller compared to fight stick.

the pandering is just unbelievable.

You shouldn't be allowed to lock-on while you're cloaked, nor it should lock on to cloaked people.

A controller with aim assist is still no match for KB/M. I welcome anyone to play with a controller. I However, I'll be playing day one with a KB/M. This game is awesome by the way; hope everyone got to play the beta.
