Looking for a full set up for $1000 or less. Can I get what I'm looking for?

Hello,

I've been interested in a gaming/multimedia pc for a while now. I now have around $1000 for my set up. I don't have ANYTHING currently so I will need everything from casing, keyboard, mouse and monitor. I plan to hook it up to my home stereo and that may include my TV so I may be able to pass on the monitor for now.

Will I be able to find anything with better graphics than ps4/xbone for what I am looking for? Thank you.

This will out perform both consoles easily. Has no monitor but everything else you wanted it does.

I will consider preowned/used equipment or custom builds if someone can help me piece it together. Here are a few for sale in my area. Anybody think either is a good deal?

For 1k? You'll easily beat out PS4.

My rig is $700 and outclasses it by a good margin.

Ok, my concerns of getting a good PC are definitely in my budget. I'm not familiar w/ PC's AT ALL. Ideally I'd have something with an HDMI out as well as possibly an optical audio out? If that exists.

3 and 4 on the list seem like the only reasonable ones.

Yes it does. The Graphics will have the HDMI but you will need a dedicated sound card for the optical though.

looks like #4 on that list is a good deal. Does anyone advise against buying preowned PC's?

Are there any other setup options I should be looking at online.

I would rather get a new setup with a Haswell i5 and GTX 760 over used 580's. For me the efficiency and savings in power consumption, plus being able to pick out the rest of the parts for future upgradeable and compatibility, would be why I'd build new.

Seriously just use this build and hook it up to your TV. Call it a day.

You can spend $400 on a console and $400 on a cheap PC, or you can spend $800 to build your own and have the best of both worlds.
