What I know is that the USB symbol is derived from Prongs of Poseidon, AKA that Poseidon's trident or pitchfork or whatever.

Oh, it's likely because that's a micro-B type connector.

It doesn't mean anything. It's A connectors are what connects to the source, B connectors are what connect to the receiving device. It's nothing more than to differentiate between the two.

When you're connecting your phone/mp3 player to your computer, you may have noticed the side that plugs into the device isn't always the same. That's because there are different types of connections. Two of the most common are Mini and Micro:

There are others, but these are the standards

thats not accurate.

basically there are multiple shape and size for multiple classes of USB

http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/writing-for-business/files/2013/09/USB-micro-A-B.png

USB-A is the most common its what most keyboard mice use. you will see USB-B on some older external HDD.

Mini-A and Mini-B are both uncommon now and obsolete since micro-usb.

Micro-A is less common, Micro-B is much more common standard on most android phones. Micro-B is preferred because its easier to distinguish which side is up since its trapezoid shape.
