one thing you never want to ever do is use your TVs built in speakers for anything ever. --- Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Weep, and you weep alone. The armory of god is guarding me but all you can see is holographic artistry.
Run a monitor and a tv like I do. I use a TV for watching video, sometimes use the tv for speakers even with a dual screen setup, and then serious ( or quiet ) gaming it is headphones. --- You can spend $400 on a console and $400 on a cheap PC, or you can spend $800 to build your own and have the best of both worlds.
Depends on how you want to play. Do you want to sit at a desk then monitor. Also Monitors are more gaming focused so picture will be a bit better. Do you want to sit on a recliner or couch and play on a massive screen that TV is way to go.
I've done both and just prefer the TV. A 60" TV while either posted back in my big comfy recliner or lounging out in my couch is the only way to game for me. --- PC game sales= more games then you could ever dream of owning. PSN - ArkonBlade XBL - The Wolf Shadow STEAM - ArkonBlade
I really doubt the quality of the speakers in the HDTV while you can choose your own speakers. A few monitors comes with speakers as well, BUT, the quality of the speakers is even more dubious. I suggest monitor and speakers either way for PC gaming.
And if you are using a TV table as your monitor stand, go big with the speakers, I mean those big 2.0 powered studio monitors.
