So is the new Nvidia 800 suppose to include it's own new cpu ?

I thought read somewhere that the new 800 series will feature a cpu on the card so it will off load workload off the main cpu ? Is there any truth to this ? if not true what is nvidia incorporating in the line up that is new ? thanks

You mean new chip? Yes, it is not called Maxwell for nothing. It is going to be completely new lineup instead of rebrands.

No, nvidia has been talking about putting a tegra ARM chip on the flagship maxwells to help with resource management.

Hmm, I may upgrade my 780 to one of these then.... Sure hope EVGA develops an ACX cooler for them too, it's the perfect air-cool solution to me.

Isn't that right, Zach?

I thought that was just for low power graphics processing.

I dunno, I've heard a number of things about it and those are the only two things were I could see it being helpful. I have a feeling we won't know all the real details until closer to launch.

I read it was to allow supercomputer users to only have to get the GPU' s but that may have been something else.

Sounds interesting, looks like I'll have to wait for an upgrade.

I wouldn't expect it to help much with offloading CPU loads unless devs start programming specifically for it, ala Mantle and GCN, which I don't see happening. Honestly, as little as I've been able to find on it, I get the feeling it won't be good for much aside from supercomputing and the people who need it for that aren't the kind who need advertised to. They were probably instrumental in developing it so they already more know than nVidia would release.

Graphics cards have had their own CPU since the beginning. That's how they work.
