How do I turn off WIndows 8.1 Password?

Linking to a Microsoft account is better though. You get settings sync and a bunch of other features. And you can still turn off the password requirement as some other users in this topic have posted links showing how.

You just go to change password > type in ur current password.

And when it tell you to type in new password, just leave it blank and click ok or something. And it should remove it.

Or, you know, you could just create a local account during the setup and not worry about the Ethernet cable at all.
