Make Windows recognize a USB controller as an Xbox 360 controller: possible?

#11shadetail1Posted 3/6/2014 7:58:56 PM
I don't have a 360 controller, but I do have a non-Microsoft USB gamepad that has the same buttons and sticks as a 360 controller. I would like to be able to use it on games that can be played with a 360 controller, but those games won't talk to it. Does anyone know a way to make this work? Perhaps some kind of driver or utility?

Edit: ^^^^^^ HOW DARE YOU SIR

Give this a try: http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/

It's kinda like a 360 controller emulator; it lets my Logitech work for 360 only games.

OK, thanks for the suggestions. MotionInJoy isn't what I'm looking for, but x360ce and Xpadder might work out. I'll look into them further.

Any other suggestions?

Well, x360ce seems to work pretty well, though I've only tested it on one game so far. I have to say, though, the online info and tutorials are pretty badly written. I had to read several conflicting web pages and do a bit of trial and error before figuring out how to make it work without crashing the game I'm testing it on.

Complaints aside, it's working at the moment. Thanks for the recommendation, guys.
