For some reason, I don't think you understand what makes a game linear.

Daggerfall is an example of a non-linear game. Being able to go anywhere at any given time despite level.

Sarcasm? The Walking Dead adventure games are 100% linear. You'll have different characters with you and hear different bits of dialogue, but you'll always progress through the story from A-->B-->C.

It's funny because R* doesn't know what to do with an open world and makes all their missions linear.

There is no better prime example of non-linearity than Darklands especially compared to something like a Rockstar game. That was about as wide open as possible and a great game too.
