Is it worth buying an snes controller over a ps3 controller for 2D games?

I forgot to mention, if you have a DS4 or Wii U Pro controller, use that (you'd need a Mayflash adapter for the Wii U Pro controller). Those are awesome controllers with great D-Pads.

If you already had a Wii you get this and use it's superior version of the Snes controller. lol

No, get a used logitech gamepad instead.

Logitech pads are junk, the rubber inserts under the buttons wear out quickly because they're dirt poor quality.

people like the saturn pad? the buttons arnt the same size. and if its the 6 face buttons, pretty much only fighting games make use of that, and sticks are the real way to play anyway. if you already have ps3 controller just use that.

Wii Classic Controller and an adapter is best way. You'll get all the functions of modern controllers with all the comfort of classic controllers. If I didn't already have a PS2 USB adapter for years, and 360 USB controller, CC would be my controller of choice.

I probably have the largest personal collection of Saturn USB pads. Great D-pad, though, there are PS, ASCIi ones that are practically identical.

X-Y-Z buttons look small in comparison to A-B-C, but they aren't much smaller than the buttons on an XBOX controller.

Agree with you about fighting games; a stick is the only way to play.

I would suggest buying literally any controller to replace the PS3 controller.

Snes would be a fine choice. PS4 controller would be a good choice (as long as you have a 360 controller for 3D games).

damn thing is a clone snes controller but its better then a snes controller. dpad on the thing is godlike and it has turbo functionality

This really seems like it might be the one. Can anyone else vouch for this? Compared to like, the ps3 controller or snes? Vs1991, have you used an actual snes controller to compare this?

It's all personal preference. I like the PS3 controller the best. I would never recommend a SNES controller over a PS3. If you think it's better go for it though, but I never found them comfortable. The Wii Classic Controller Pro I got with Monster Hunter 3 feels stiff to me, but again it is all preference.

You can spend $400 on a console and $400 on a cheap PC, or you can spend $800 to build your own and have the best of both worlds.

Snes controller used to rub my thumbs raw. When I was playing Mortal Kombat 3. People used to call it nintendo thumbs. Wouldn't recommend it.

As a kid, my friends and I loved to play the OG Mario Party. I had to bring my controller everywhere just in case, because no one would let me use their controller. I guess I had some weak skin because I bled a lot, but said, "F*** it," because I couldn't stand losing.
