Moment of truth, I'm about to remove MSE and install Avast on my computer!

Wish me luck guys! I've backed up some of my stuff but not all of it since I'm too lazy, so I'll just cross my fingers and hope that everything turns out alright.

Anything to keep in mind before I/whilst I download Avast (I've heard it's intrusive but intrusive how? Like good intrusive or bad)? I already have Malwarebytes so I hope they work well together right?

Intrusive? I've never had an issue with that. Keep it silent/gaming mode if you're worried about annoying notifications.

And it works fine with Malwarebytes Pro. I use both with no issue.

Went through the same thing last year. Avast works well but it's super annoying sometimes. This will help:

I've had a lot of problems with Avast, since the day I installed it I've had to constantly change my firefox settings to remember closed tabs every single time I open it, and when I installed Avast it installed the usual Spigot spyware crap that changes your homepage and search engine. Thus far I've not been overly impressed by Avast, it seems like it's every day that I have to go into Avast to fight it to let me do something that I'm trying to do. I also noticed a decent performance loss when I installed it, which shouldn't be happening because I have a 3770k and 16 gigs of RAM.

Honestly I liked Comodo a lot more and never had anywhere near as much trouble out of it.

Spigot Spyware does not come standard with Avast! I have it on almost all my computers, and have never had this spyware.

Or, you know, Malwarebytes + Firefox + Adblock Edge + NoScript.

Disabling sounds and popups is a must for Avast. Then it's fine and has caused no problems for me. (Neither with Borderlands nor have I ever found Spigot or any other sort of spyware after installing Avast on any computer.)
