Quick question about upgrading to win7 64bit???

#1PannerPosted 3/9/2014 6:54:05 AM
I'll be upgrading to Win7 64bit later today and adding more ram, but i'd like to know if it's better to upgrade to 64 bit then add the ram, or add the ram then upgrade???

Well by upgrade, do you mean from W7 32 bit or XP?

XP - Upgrade first, then add the Ram.

W7 - Doesn't matter.

Well there really is no advantage to installing at a later date...

You can spend $400 on a console and $400 on a cheap PC, or you can spend $800 to build your own and have the best of both worlds.

It doesn't matter. If you install the RAM then upgrade. It won't see the extra RAM on 32bit. When you upgrade to 64bit it will. If you upgrade to 64bit and then install the RAM. It'll see your installed RAM, and then when you install the new RAM it'll see all the RAM.
