Fine. It was a bit of a mess as there wasn't a standard layout for devices though so 1 controller may have button 1 mapped to a completely different physical than controller 2 (even if they have similar layouts).

DInput is in plenty of ways superior as it has more possible buttons. Not entirely sure why Xinput is the defacto standard these days. I guess its just what caught on.

Most modern games have x-input and, to some extent, directinput support. It's pretty likely x-input will be well supported in the future.

Are you understanding what I'm asking here? Why would a developer put in 360 pad support on a game that is not on the 360 but is on PC? Yes, it would be nice if they did but it doesn't guarantee this would happen.
