Looking to get into a MMORPG

#1StBDawgPosted 3/10/2014 1:19:16 PM
I am looking to get into a MMORPG. It doesn't have to be new but do want it to be pretty popular meaning I will run into a bunch of people still playing. Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be strictly PC. I am looking for a MMOPRG noob friendly game.

Thanks

I am sure I will get lots of flak for this.

But ESO man. Highly recommended. It'll be out next month.

I definitely plan on getting Elder Scrolls Online either for PS4 or Xbox One. I want something to tide me over until then.

I would probably just wait for ESO also. Theres another beta this weekend too and just play something else in the mean time.

Otherwise you got:

Lord of the Rings Online
Everquest 2
Age of Conan
Tera
Rift
Aion
Star WArs

Tons really, I don't think its really worth starting and quitting in 3 weeks.

Try out Star Trek Online if you enjoy trek at all.

Really against MMOs and subscription but I enjoyed what little time I spent with GW2. I reckon it is not for everyone due to its fighting mechanics but I did enjoyed its fighting mechanics especially when I played their halloween event a year or two ago (never touched the game in a long time). Other than that, if you want traditional WOW-like MMO then go with Rift. I actually bought storm legion and a year's subscription the other year.

WoW is still the best on the market, regardless of what people say. At the end of the day everyone is either trying to be it or beat it with different mechanics but are always trying to top it. It's the game to beat fOr a reason. The realm sharing makes leveling not barren and it still has the best pvp of them all. The pros outweigh the cons of the game.

That said, it's not worth the money or time investment if you're just going to eso in a month.

I would recommend ESO personally.

After playing GW2 aka Gem Wars 2 for more than a year , I'm really done with the F2P model.
