the apu was designed for future intent, microsoft engineered it to support dx12 and not via software update
the hardware is dx12 and it's been kept secret until recently, and more will get revealed at gdc

why would every dx11 video card be dx12? no one would buy the new cards


Haha. People dont buy new cards because they support a new version of a (hopefully dieing) graphics API.

The new cards will be bought because they are more powerful (and if the 750/TI is anything to show for it, very low TDP for their power)
