I said it wasn't for gaming purposes but the wife wanted to know if certain games would run on the new laptop. The machine in question is

The bullet points for those not interested in the link (and I don't blame you)
-4th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-4210Y mobile processor
-1.4GHz (with Turbo Boost up to 1.9GHz)
-Intel® HD Graphics 4200
-4GB RAM
-Windows 8.1

The games in question
-Hearthstone
-Diablo 3
-Starcraft (I'll assume she means 2 because to ask about 1 would be silly)
-World of Warcraft
-League of Legends (Even though I've said it runs on a potato)

She mentioned a couple others but I really can't recall off hand what they were.

Starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft would be fine playing on lowest graphics settings, but Diablo 3 might run at 20-30 fps on low.

I know you'll be able to run WoW. My setup was worse (2GB of ram, and a 1.2 GHz processor at the time) and I could.

I bought it for slightly cheaper with no intention of gaming. It's purpose was writing, learning, music, movies. The only gaming I ever had in mind was old things. Baldur's Gate 2 or Nethack for example. But the wife saw it and it's size and asked about the "newer" games.

I think Diablo 3 was the main one.

I myself had not played WoW since shortly after it's release and I was playing on some 1GB RAM laptop on dial up. I just didn't know how much things had changed. I figured it would be fine and I doubt it will end up on the machine anyway. But you know, better safe than sorry.

I played Diablo 2 on a machine with 64MB RAM. I think she could live with 25 FPS. (At least I would hope so.)

The thing that throws me for a loop is the processor really. The whole 1.4GHZ thing seems far too low for well anything. I'm obviously missing some key detail.
