This poll is now closed.
So I just saw this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7f8JPquE5Y

And I came up with an idea for this poll.

I'm talking about games like CoD, BF, MoH, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Dark Souls, Civ V, etc.

Depends really. I buy games mostly for singleplayer, but I will occasionally buy a multiplayer game. Or in the case of Dark Souls which is both at the same time.

Probably 50 singleplayer centric games to every multiplayer centric game in my case. The beauty of multiplayer games is they tend to stick around for a lot longer than a singleplayer experience so you don't actually need a new MP every month. Singleplayer has the benefit of not needing friends or others to make it an enjoyable experience and you can do what you want at your own pace.

Pretty much single player only. It has to be very cheap and fun for me to buy a multiplayer only game.

If a game doesn't have a decent multiplayer component I probably won't buy it.

That's interesting.. For me it doesn't really matter. If the game looks awesome, I'll buy it, It doesn't really matter if it's SP or MP for me! :P

If I'm paying full price it's almost guaranteed to be multiplayer. If an SP game is worth playing at launch it's worth playing when I can fit it into my schedule.

I've lost interest in Multiplayer gaming. After 6 years of WoW, the last 3 years have been "meh". Nothing hooks me anymore.
Single player is just far more appealing to me.

Everyone is putting in these progression systems into MP now. And I recognize them. They're the same mechanics that I've seen a million times in WoW. Chasing the carrot on the stick.
I'm tired of the mind games and subtle ways they encourage you to play. I can recognize them a mile away and it repulses me. Many of them are techniques you see in casino's to hook poor saps and feed off the addicts.
