Need a new mobo

#1wassup3Posted 3/16/2014 11:06:15 PM
I got a Intel Core i7 4770 and am looking for a motherboard and a heatsink and fan for it. Any recommendations? Looking to spend about a hundred on the mobo and about 20-ish for the hsf.

Since you aren't overclocking the stock heat sink is fine.

How's this mobo?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130697

It has all the slots I need (1 PCI-e 16X, 1 PCI-e 1X, 1 PCI, 3 SATA). It has an H87 chipset.

Will this board work with the Core i7 4770?
I have a GTX 560Ti. Will this work with the PCI-e 16X 3.0 slot or do I need to put it on the 2.0 slot?
Will this board's sound beat out an old X-Fi XtremeMusic?
Does anyone have alternative recommandations?

Looks okay. Not too many 1 star reviews

It actually has 1 PCIe 3.0 16x, 1 PCIe 2.0 16x (only 4x lanes connected), 2 PCIe 1x, and 3 PCI (lol)

Yes

Yes. Don't put any GPU in the 2.0 slot because it'll only run @ 4x on this board.

Not really. That being said, if the board is grounded well it'll sound just fine so long as you plug directly into the board instead of using the front jacks. My board has the same audio chip and Headphone Virtualization is a godsend for gaming and movies.
