Upgrading HD 6850

Is GTX 660 enough for the next 2 years? I want to at least max Dark Souls 2 when it comes out, and maybe play w.e future comes out.

Why not a 760?

You can spend $400 on a console and $400 on a cheap PC, or you can spend $800 to build your own and have the best of both worlds.

I am assuming you would be fine with maxing Dark Souls 2. But there isn't a lot of headroom with that card. If you're willing to compromise image quality or frame rate on your games into the future, you should be fine for the most part. But if you want better than, say, medium/high quality at around 30-45 FPS average (just a guess), you should probably shell out for a better card.

The problem here is that the GTX 660 is already a generation old and its performance then and now is maybe just a hair above midrange. It's honestly probably not even a worthwhile upgrade over an HD 6850 unless you're getting a great deal.

What would be a worthy upgrade that you recommend, then?

What's your highest budget?

Preferably 200, but I can be flexible, so maybe 250? I use Canadian sites though, so those prices...

I don't really see why a 6850 shouldn't be expected to max (or near enough) Dark Souls 2... unless the port is just awful.

Would stretch your budget, even with the $20 rebate, but still a much better card.

Another option that's probably a bit more affordable.

You might do even better on the prices if you look around. I didn't peruse all sites that ship to Canada.

If $200 is your budget try to get a 270x. The normal 270 is also a good choice if you're comfortable overclocking.
