That was a magnificently bad analogy.

You're right, people don't call you an entitled whiner when you take a bite out of your burger and exclaim it tastes like s***.

Since when was having more options a bad thing?

It fragments the playerbase. It also allows too much deviation from the developer's intended experience.

That's not to defend Titanfall, I think it's a complete crapfest, but there is something to be said about a developer having integrity and sticking to a vision, particularly when it's unpopular. I tend to agree that players don't always know what's best for the experience. It seems that, paradoxically, whenever fan input starts influencing design decisions there's a decrease in game quality.

What if you went to a restaurant and they would only let you have one thing one way? What if McDonald's didn't let you take the pickles off your sandwich and if you somehow figured it out, they started grinding them up into the meat instead? That's basically what you're getting with games and their DRM which protects from mods.

What if you go to a restaurant and they make you pick out all the seasonings and ingredients to your meal?

Guess what, unless you're a chef, a restaurant's chef will probably do a better job at that than you.

Well, look at Skyrim. It's pretty clear at this point that many independent modders are far more qualified to make a game than a AAA studio.

Those modders didn't make the base game.

Apparently neither did Bethesda, they just outsourced it to literal code monkeys.

Bethesda made the game, it says it all over it.

Hey come on, they know how to upload high-rez textures for someone else's game. Surely that counts for something.

More like "What if you go into a pizza place and whine that even though they have all the ingredients in stock for spaghetti, they don't let you have it even though you offer to do all the work with their equipment?" or possibly after buying the pizza you proceed to try and turn it into spaghetti, because hey you bought it right?

Sane people would say go buy what you wanted in the first place instead of being a dim bulb who insists on trying to "improve" everything.
