Who else is willing to bet that 90% of Oculus Rift users...

...will be using it exclusively for virtual sex software and other perverted applications, once it goes retail? Preferably in conjunction with Kinect.

At any rate, VR is NEVER going to go mainstream. Strapping a dorky looking thing to your head that blocks out your entire field of vision and can't be seen by anyone other than you while using it? Good luck selling that to Joe Sixpack.

More like, VR developers are trying too hard to gain mainstream legitimacy, when they really should be pushing for the pervert market as hard as possible.

I sure don't have any interest in it. I know what it is, the Oculus Rift that is, but I know nothing more. Not interested in (as you said) the stupid blocky thing on my head.

Just Youtube a bit, so dumb. Two little beedy eyes is suppose to make it VR?

I totally agree with you, its not something that I actually expect to sell mainstream, so many people believe it will grow out of proportion and just reach everyone.

There's so many reasons why that is so wrong.

That said, I'm perfectly fine with that. Mainstream is a bad thing, and if VR through Oculus can just get enough momentum to get some attentions here and there for the niche gaming world that it creates then I'm very much satisfied with that.

In truth, you should never actually wish things like this to become mainstream.

It's not that I care about it going mainstream, it's just that these devs keep yammering on about how VR is going to "change the world." Didn't happen in the nineties, won't happen now.
