Good choice, this is mine (it's no longer in production so the price has jumped, was $800 when I got it 2 years ago)
Just replaced the lamp on it a month ago, I'm good for another two years!
How is the Viewsonic for corners? Nice and sharp? Latest model of Optoma's tended to have a blurry-corner problem which makes windows/HUD usage problematic, which is why I opted to just replace the lamp on my current one instead of upgrade.
Haven't noticed any blurring at the corners. The entire image is equally sharp and bright from corner to corner. Speaking of brightness, I love how I can project images up to 120" and still see everything clearly without drawing the blinds. Also, 3D does a great job at holding me off until the consumer Rift comes out. If you check out the reviews you'll notice that mine is at the top. I go in-depth about it, so check it out if you want more info. --- 4670K | 2GB PNY GTX 770 OC | 8GB 1600 9-9-9-24 | 120GB SSD | 1TB WD Blue | Gigabyte Z87MX | BitFenix Phenom M (white) | Win8.1 Pro http://imgur.com/KaTyP5o.jpg

the LG simply because it is IPS. There is really no good reason to buy a TN panel anymore
