Seriously, why does nobody utilize the Saved Games folder in your User folder? Instead they put your game saves and .inf files in My Documents. Why?

The only games I know that actually use the correct folder is the Crysis series.

This is America, devs can put your saves in whatever folder they feel like.

at least they're generally not dumping the **** in protected OS directories these days. Not that it helps at all with the older games

Why don't they just start sticking programs in My Music, then? Your logic makes no sense.

Maybe someone could write up a script that would look for games in the Documents folder and use a directory junction to move them to the "My Games" folder...that way the programs would still see all the files in the "wrong" folders they're used to, but you can sleep at night knowing that they're safe and sound in the folder labeled for games.

It shouldn't be too hard to do though it would be a bit time consuming unless there's a way to automate the process.

That would be nice. I could just do it manually too, but all the linked folders would still show up in My Documents.

Honestly, though, don't care enough to do such a thing. I just thought it was a silly thing for developers to do, that's all.

Better question, why don't games just put saves and config files in their install directory rather than cluttering the rest of the computer?
