The problem with phones is the screen size sucks for reading. Argue all you want, you're never going to get around a 5" or less screen being a poor experience for reading technical docs. That's been covered above but it bears repeating for those who keep mentioning them.

I use Polaris Reader (which came with my phone) for PDFs. Gets the job done.
