Computer Freezing?

#1mikewu1Posted 3/24/2014 3:33:32 AM(edited)
So I have an old dell opitplex 745 that I use as a spare computer and it just started freezing. It has worked great up until today. The computer will freeze during random times too. First time it froze was when me and my friend were in a middle of a match. 2nd time I was check some settings (right after boot). Third time we were able to get like 20-30 mins of gaming before it froze again

Why is it freezing? My first guess it is overheating?

Specs:
Core 2 Quad q6700
4GB RAM
HD 7750
all that other stuff

Sounds like something is overheating to me. Either the processor or the graphics card. I've had both happen to me with similar symptoms.

IMHO, I don't think it is overheating... Overheating usually causes a computer to shut completely off so it can cool down...

I would be curious to do a HDD sector check and run Memtest and see if either find errors...
