Iím currently re-installing XP on an old friends PC, for there amusement and there money. *I donít know what they want it for or anything, they just give me money and parts and say what they want me to do. I don't ask questions, Iím also happy to help*
I was thinking right after I install it, I heard of programs that can make a backup image (1:1?) of the OS HDD after it's installed and if any trouble happens, they can just run the program, point to the backup image and point to the HDD and it will auto-wipe/clean/format/restore the OS HDD as if it was done manually again.
Anyone know of a good program that will do this, and if possible free? *I have a 40GB HDD laying here I don't use, I was going to put into the PC, that should be more then big enough for only the OS being freshly installed.* He can then use that as the image of the newly installed OS and only have it connected when he uses the program/image to restore his PC again.
