Funny how quickly those 'nextgens are more powerful than PC' proclaimers shut up

Even before they launched, right when the first news about frame rates and resolutions came out.

People realized they were being fed bogus PR lies to hype up the new consoles. When "next-gen" games are still at 720p and 900p and are rarely pushing more than 30 fps and look about on par with pc games running at medium to high settings I think people decided to shut up.

Of course you'll still have the usual crowd that say graphics don't matter, fps above 30 isn't important for most games, they can't tell the difference between 30 & 60 and that 30 fps means better graphics.

I just find it so hard to believe that people can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps, it's like ****ing night and day.

Which PC GPUs are about equal in performance to the current console GPUs (if they can be directly compared)?

Its tough to compare exactly, but for example the new released GTx 750 at $120 is more powerful then either new console. This is about as cheap as video cards get that are meant for gaming. Even older cards like a gtx 550 and gtx 650 are more powerful then current consoles. And a gtx 550 for example was originally released in 1st Q 2011. I bet you the same goes for the 4x series too which would have come out in 2010.

PS4 = R7 265
XB1 = R7 260 but the XB1 gpu has more bandwidth.

I remember a user here saying it's comparable to an R9 270, which honestly makes me scratch my head because the 270 can handle 1080p/30fps relatively well on very high settings.

No problem. You also have to take the cpu into account. The r7 265 is a decent card but the PS4 cpu is probably holding it back.
