Are high-end speakers and a high-end sound card worth it for gaming?

For example, Paradigm Millenia CT speakers and a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD sound card. I own some Logitech Z623 speakers right now.

The sig is my laptop, ignore

get an asus xonar essence stx sound card, a cambridge audio amp, and a pair of klipsch speakers. stereo is good. surround is overrated

Quality speakers are definitely worth it. A sound card can be worth it.

I'd say yes, but I love having good sound. Some of these "Masterrace" folks are ok with their cheap 2.1 systems that sound like garbage.

I wouldn't use a high end soundcard with speakers. I'd just get a nice DAC and a good amp for passive bookshelf speakers. I think all you would need is a DAC and a pre-amp for powered monitors.
