Do you guys care about Virtual Reality?

As cool as it is, do you guys think it will stick with the "hardcore" crowd? Head tracking seems like the best thing to happen with VR, but it doesn't seem practical for an FPS where precision and quick 180 turns are necessary.

No. I don't care about VR.

Let us assume that for the sake of assumption that I am always right.

Outside of very specific use cases no. I got over the VR fad back in the early 90s back when mirror shades were cool and everyone wanted an ono-sendai deck so they could be like McCoy Pauley and Case

Currently? I don't care too much about it.

In 5-10 years? Easily a very different story.

I think it has potential, but I believe we're still at least a decade away from lightweight, responsive and mass market affordable VR.

I may be wrong but I think you can get lenses for it.

I was so pumped at the possibility of playing system shock 2 or deus ex 1 with head tracking and a good set of headphones.

Less pumped after the Facebook buyout but I'll still buy the first good and well supported consumer setup.

I feel like they would have to tone down the difficulty level and pacing of games to compensate for the physical limitations of head tracking. Whether or not this will be fun remains to be seen, but perhaps it may open up a different kind of gaming genre.
