Hey all, Ive been thinking about doing some upgrades on my PC in the next few months and am not really sure what to start with. Dont really have a budget as of yet but will know a bit more next month. Just curious as to what I should concentrate on first to get the best bang for my buck.

Specs:

CPU: i7-960 @ 3.2
Mobo: Sabertooth X58
GPU: Sapphire HD 6970 2gb
Memory: 2x 4gb gskills ripjaws
SSD: 128gb (cant remember the make... Corsair maybe)
HDD: 1TB WD Caviar Black
PSU: 700w Cooler Master
Cooling: Cooler Master V8 and a few additional smaller fans
Case: Cooler Master HAF
OS: Windows 8.1 Home

Had this built for me about 2 years ago and am thinking it is time to invest some more money into it. Any suggestions on where to start would be great.

Appreciate the response but was hoping for something a bit more specific. Dont really know anything about overclocking.

Are you having any issues with your current build? If not then you might want to considering waiting but having the money ready for when the next models are released and then upgrade (at least when it comes to CPU/GPU).
Asus P8Z77-V Pro, Intel i7 3770K 3.5Ghz, 8GB RAM, Ati Radeon 5770 1GB, CM 690 II. Win7 x64.

Just get a new GPU, maybe a 290 or a 780. If you don't want to spend too much a 280x, 270 or 770. Overclock only if you're having problems running games that aren't supposed to be giving you problems. If you're going to overclock just buy a 212 evo.

Im not having any issues besides the normal pc headaches. Im not able to max a lot of games but it doesnt bother me that much. Ill just keep saving for awhile and look into a cpu and gpu a little later in the year I suppose. Thanks for the responses guys.

I personally think 2016 is a good year to move from the 6970. I'm waiting till about then, and I've only got a 560ti. Then again, my basis for upgrading comes from when I experience framerates below 30fps on medium settings on games that I really want to play. For me, the game I upgraded for was TERA. I upgraded from a 9800GTX lol.

If I wait til 2016 I'll definitely be able to grab a great GPU at that point. I just don't wanna spend money at this point and not see a lot of difference. When I built this rig I went from gaming on a PS3 and the transition was amazing. Want to get that feeling again lol.
