4k TV connected to a PC? XBR65X850A as an example?

Will you be able to run it at an actual 4k resolution using a PC or it is really the same deal as the old XBR1 limitation back in the day? Also is it stuck at only 30Hz?

Sounds like below in the link answers my question. My 2 690s can't handle it because I need HDMI 2.0 on the cards even though the TV would for 60 Hz.

Any news on what cards will have HDMI 2.0?

Correct. But I'd doubt two 690's could maintain 60 FPS anyway. That's basically having 4 downclocked 680's, which aren't that much better than 580's TBH.

At the moment the only thing that can really handle that resolution are tri/quad SLI cards with 6 GB RAM, namely the Titan and Titan Black.

I've been gaming at 2560x1600 for a while now on them since release. With two of them I can max any game at that resolution no problem. Heck even one of them for that matter. Benchmarks I've seen still have them giving higher scores over the original Titan. I've also tested this with a friends single Titan against a single 690.

Just wish a HDMI 2.0 card was coming soon.

Also with that said tri or quad titans would blow me away yes but dollar for dollar 2 690s are better than 2 regular titans. Not sure about the blacks. I'm sure those are better overall haven't checked.

I'd think memory bandwidth will be a bigger problem than actual performance of the card at that resolution. IDK why people think they "aren't much better than 580", though. 680 is quite a bit better. Even 660Ti beats out a 580.

All a x90 card is is two x80 cards downclocked slightly on each card, so you're actually using quad sli. If you have a motherboard with 4 PCIe16 slots it's always better (and usually the same price) to get 4 x80 cards.

VRAM is the real limiting factor with 4K because the textures take up massive amounts of memory.

I would think your 2 GB VRAM limit on your cards would hold you back, as well.

Can't remember the source, but someone reported 1.5 GB usage just from web surfing.

A Titan (or 780ti) can't even max every game 60fps at 1080p....you lyin, doggy.
