where is my username and password for wifi network?

#1PowderedNutsPosted 3/29/2014 10:08:28 AM
so im trying to change channels because i heard that helps when your good wifi seems to be incredibly slow but when i put in my ip adress on the browser it takes me to a screen that says to put in my username and password. but i never got a username or password from the company, unless they mean my security key. but even then im lacking a usrname.

anyone that knows more about this know where i can find them?
its motorola wifi thingy btw.

im not at all tech savvy so if you could read out of the internet for dummies book id be much appreaciative

Probably on the back of your router, or on the box it came in, or on something in the box it came in.

Go and look at whatever device is giving you wireless. Usually there will be a sticker somewhere, or a label that contains the model number and it will often times have the default username and password printed somewhere.

If it's not printed, then hopefully you can at least find the model number of the device. If you can, Google what the default username and password is for that make.

Another option might be to directly connect a cable to the device, and try to access it that way. Sometimes it's passworded for wifi access, but not physical access.

thats not really helpful, because nothing says exactly "username" or "password" and idk computer lingo so it could be called something totally different on the router.
