Topic. I would think "no" but not really sure. Is the gameplay good, at least, with a minimum of tedium? If I were to assume the worst, then it would be teen melodrama, repetitive combat, and lot's of interrupted walking. At best, I would be absolutely wrong. I liked Knights of Xentar because it was hilarious, but FF takes itself seriously.

Depends if you get Card Mod early on, otherwise you'll be drawing magic a lot. You can get an ability for No Encounters early on.

Well do you want to spam the Draw command or abuse a card game in order to get spells to junction to stats?

Either way, no. Worst game if you want to avoid tedium, I mean even 2 with it's leveling system was better.

Yeah, there is hentai. But Knights of Xentar, that's its job to disturb as well as rip on every rpg up to it's time. Anyway, I'll have to make a decision soon between having time to play FF8 or playing FF tactics on an emulator if I can find it.

Well, the steam version of 8 has that magic booster function. You can use that to bypass all the tedium and just rush the game if that's what you want.

If you actually enjoy the card game then you won't find farming magic tedious at all. A lot of people really love it.
Every time I try to go where I really wanna be it's already where I am, 'cuz I'm already there

Of the first 10 Final Fantasy games, I have finished all but 2 and 8 and I have also replayed all of the ones I've beaten. I got pretty far in 2 before I burned out. In 8 I made it like 6 hours and just couldn't take it anymore. The battle was nothing special and the dialogue was TERRIBLE.

Like, dialogue was always pretty awkward in Final Fantasy games, but in FF8 it reached a point where I wouldn't have wanted people to look in and see the garbage plastered on my screen.

Every reason for FF8 being bad listed thus far just proves they didn't actually play the game lol.

Don't even bother drawing magic except at draw points, or the bosses with summons. Only use abilities to mod stuff into magic.

If you abuse draw, you just make the game super easy- like 1 shot everything easy. If you try to do that on your first play through, you only have yourself to blame for not having a good time.

The gameplay is terrible, the story is terrible.

You're either a troll or have the worst video game taste I have ever personally seen.
You can spend $400 on a console and $400 on a cheap PC, or you can spend $800 to build your own and have the best of both worlds.
