Away from my desktop comp, but I believe this is the same model that I have. I've had mine since 09 and it's still going strong.

That's an interesting resolution, to say the least. You'll be fine since that's not really that much bigger than 1920x1080. 3GB of VRAM shouldn't be a problem for you.

Like Phil said 770 or 290 is your best bet for that price range. As for waiting either one should be good. I would want to upgrade past a 5770 ASAP of I had the cash myself. you will notice such a massive improvement.
