The best PC gaming forum?

What do you think? Are we already here? Is this board the pinnacle of daily PC gaming discussion? I'm looking for suggestions.

Real discussions with real people, not over the internet.

All forums are bad.

I don't know about that. In person discussions are not always immediately available. They may not share the interest. And text as a conversational format provides people with more confidence and time to articulate what they want to say.

The problem with forums is that you're talking to a bunch of random people on the internet, some of whom may just be there to piss you off for their own enjoyment.

At least in real life you can punch those people in the face. Here you're stuck hoping that moderation will feel like a punch in the face (it doesn't really).

Actually, here, you're stuck hoping that it gets moderated at all. It often feels like if someone else does some blatant trolling the mods shrug and look the other way, but if you so much as hint at something against the TOS, you're modded in a heartbeat.

But whatever, no... Gamefaqs is not the best ANYTHING...it only beat out Gamespot's forums because Gamespot took it to an all new low...

So how many people did you punch in RL?

But in terms of active PC gaming discussion, is this as good as it gets? I've looked at some other boards, but they seem to churn out a daily topic that gets zero replies and quickly forgotten.

That's just it.... in real life, people don't act like complete dicks.

Thats one thing i love about gamefaqs is how active it is and you can chat just about everything. Videogames, movies, music, sports and ofcourse daily fix of PotD madness. No annoying ads between clicks helps too.

This is pretty much it. There are exceptions. Punches have been thrown in both directions. But for the most part, people are respectful.

Might be able to find a LAN group in your area. Decent place to start.

People IRL suck. Online people do, too, but who cares about that? Most people we know IRL are just circumstances. Why do you think people who are friends in school drift apart afterwards? They're only friends because they see each other everyday. It's convenient and that person is THERE.

At least online we have a common interest. And whilst there can be disagreements and you're not going to like everyone, we can still talk about things here. Anyone else sick of making small talk about weather and traffic and crap?

The people I have met have almost zero interest in games. The women I meet only play Candy Crush Saga, (though one says she plays CoD but I've never seen her game, she even asked my help to get her boyfriend a gift for Xmas and I suggested stuff like Borderlands and Bulletstorm and a few other things and she didn't even know what they were.)
