Anybody with a brain isn't going to buy a overpriced laptop that your paying twice the amount you should simply for the name.
Ill be honest i purchased a Alienware laptop around 7 or 8 years ago and while it was nice while it lasted i ended up getting shafted big time. It slowly died on me. got to the point where i had to shake the laptop for it to come on. then the GPU ended up dying. I Sent it in to be repaired because it was still under warranty.
Got the system back and started playing games again... noticed the performance was not where it should have been and looked to see what the problem was..... the put a different model GPU in the system without telling me... which was a good bit lower quality then the one i had in it. I called to complain and was told that the GPU i originally had in the laptop was on back order and they put one of similar quality in the system.
What sense does that make? well i complained yet again and was told to ship it back to them and they would fix the problem as soon as the parts were available.4 months later i got the system back and literally worked 3 months before the motherboard burnt out and was told it was my fault and that it would be 1200 bucks to be replaced.
Safe to say... never again will i be that stupid. --- i5 2500k 4.5GHZ OC, 32GB DDR3, PNY GTX 780TI SLI, MSI P67A-GD55 Mobo, 128GB SSD, Barracuda Green 1.5TB HDD updating to i7 shortly Xbox live: tanis8585
You might be able to but most people avoid alienware like its a plague.
You would be surprised, hundreds of thousands of people buy Macs don't they?
He was talking about anyone who knows dick about computers.
Certain macbook pros are a good value for the money --- WC i5 2500k @ 4.4 ghz, 2x GTX 670 DirectCU II, Samsung 830 128GB SSD, 16GB G.Skill 1600 DDR3, Zalman 1000W PSU, Cosmos 1000 Case, HP LP3065 @ 2560 x 1600 IPS
Your horror story, assuming it is true, cannot happen to Alienware buyers today.
it's completely true and regardless if something similar could not happen now... it did happen to me so you can see why i would be biased towards the brand. I was being stupid at the time and in college and everyone wanted a Alienware laptop when i could have built a system with better specs and bought a low cost laptop to carry to class with me and still would have cost less. --- i5 2500k 4.5GHZ OC, 32GB DDR3, PNY GTX 780TI SLI, MSI P67A-GD55 Mobo, 128GB SSD, Barracuda Green 1.5TB HDD updating to i7 shortly Xbox live: tanis8585
