Price is nice but... I need 120hz. -_-
I'll settle for the upcoming 2560x1440 120hz monitors.

So, kind of off topic, however any chance you (or anyone really) could explain what exactly the hz is measuring? Is it just the refresh rate, or is it anything else?

Yes, HZ is how many time the screen refreshes per second, can come in horizontal and vertical rates, usually the vertical is being referred to.

@OP $700 Is hardly affordable for most, I'd personally shell out about $400 for one at 60HZ max.

You must not be aware of how much this sort of thing went for just as far back as a year ago....

I really wish manufacturers would actually test and list input lag.

It mentions being compatible with a Xbox or PS4, but its only 28 inches though. Where are the large non-TV panels that you can hang on the wall for gaming, media, and web browsing? I am still waiting for something like that to come on the market. I just want a 60hz fast response time 4K screen around 50 inches. No stupid post processing or smart TV crap.

There you go. It's about the best you can get for a TV "acting" like a monitor. Around 17ms actual tested response time. Considering most "1ms response time" monitors are actually more in the realm of 7-10ms tested, that's not bad.

Even if the card can't run games at 4k, how about solely for desktop?

The main problem is that most Windows programs still don't support DPI scaling so they'll look terrible at 4K.

I would consider a 4K monitor once they add support for them in OS X 10.9.3.

Eh, I would never buy another TN panel again unless it was for gaming @ 120hz+

This, even for 120Hz I don't think I could bare it, though. If only that monitor was IPS.

IPS > MVA > TN

This is the right compromise IMO

Don't buy TN panels, 99% of them are garbage.
Especially when you have to sacrifice visual quality for response time and refresh rate.

This panel is the right compromise IMO.

And if you think it's too expensive, the old adage "You get what you pay for" will ring true, especially here.

You know the only way to verify that is via 3rd party.

You can't trust alot of things monitor makers put out at face value.

All claims need to be tested / validated.
