Watch Dogs on PC will require Uplay

Watchdogs will also require you to climb towers to unlock the nearby waypoints on your minimap because Ubisoft ran out of original ideas a long time ago.

It will also require you to take over enemy bases to make new quick travel locations. It will probably going to be stupidly easy too.

Ubisoft hates PC gamers, this is nothing new.

Oh gosh the stupidity in this topic. ALL UBISOFT GAMES REQUIRE UPLAY. How the hell is this news? It's like that one time gamespot reported Titanfall required Origin to play. Ignorance, really

If you guys think Uplay is bad I just bought the Walking Dead season 2 off GMG (no steam key surprisingly) and the telltale service was down all night for me so I couldn't dl till now.

Rocksmith 2014 does not launch an external client. I don't think the older Rocksmith does either.

So yeah, most ubisoft games do, but not all of them.

South Park also didn't. But that was under THQ for most of its development I believe.

Why can't ubisoft just let Steam take care of the distribution of the game, why are they getting involved in the distribution part ? I don't get it, am I missing something ?

Because Steam pretty much owns the market and everyone wants a piece of that sweet sweet digital pie. (Yum! 1's and 0's!) I mean, when you sell a game through steam, steam takes a 30% cut, but if you sell through your OWN site, that's 100% yours!

It's also probably partially an "anti-piracy" measure because we all know that everyone on PC is a filthy pirate and wouldn't pay for a game as long as there's a free version available (*Game companies actually think like this*). Of course I'm sure it does absolutely NOTHING to stop pirates, but the execs feel like they're doing Something.

Well, the pirate thing is true. The VAST majority of PC users that I know, Pirate. It disgusts me.
