Any good indie RPG's that released in the past few years?

Preferably console-style. The ones I've enjoyed most are Eternal Eden and Barkley: Shut Up and Jam Gaiden, but I'm having trouble finding others. Was a while ago for both already. Consoles aren't giving me my RPG fix.

I'm looking for more than just those generic RPG's you can find everywhere that have an extremely basic & simple storyline, along with copy & paste mechanics and basic generic dungeon design. I'm hoping to get some suggestions of RPG's with a good storyline & characters good game mechanics and interesting. I love turn-based, but just a copy pasta of the Dragon Quest style isn't good enough (since they're generally not nearly as balanced and are nearly devoid of charm).

Precipice of Darkness series? There are quite a few coming up from Kickstarter, but I can't remember them off-hand.

The Precipe of Darkness games are really not my type of games... I'm not a big fan of Penny Arcade's type of humor and art style, so that probably has a lot to do with it. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I tried google searching for like half an hour, but it seems really hard to find interesting ones.

As for kickstarter... there's a good amount of upcoming non-RPG titles I'm looking forward to (or with light RPG elements), but I can't say I've seen an RPG that's truly up my alley and well... either way, they've yet to release.

I also think Legend of Grimrock seems like an interesting indie RPG, but my laptop doesn't have the specs to run it smoothly.

Defender's quest mashes the idea of Tower defense in there for addictive results. Already has a second one in development.

Guess I'll check that out, but I'm not big on the Tower Defense game genre. I also hate that FF7 mini-game in Fort Condor and it's my least favourite part of 30 Second Hero.

I love good puzzling in my RPG's though. Wild Arms games, Lufia 2, Golden Sun 1 & 2... total bliss. Also love puzzling in an action-adventure/RPG like Illusion of Gaia, Alundra and Brave Fencer Musashi.

What about the Spiderweb Software games? Geneforge, Eschalon, Avernum, and Avadon?

*They are a bit more old school CRPG though.

I think you mean old school PC RPG... Anyway, I tried 2 of those before and I wasn't too fond of them (the first 2). Thanks for the suggestion, but sadly not my kind of games.

PC RPG = CRPG (Computer RPG).

A pair of rather funny parodies of SNES JRPGs. They're $3 for two games, and occasionally drops down to $1 for the two on sale.

*Turn Evil can now be cast on players. When used, it applies a small goatee and causes them to explain their diabolical plans while steepling their fingers.
