I put my computer to sleep. I turn it off for the night once or twice a week.

An hour. I restart the computer on a regular basis just to wipe the RAM. Usually because Windows tend to get too comfortable with using random space. I usually have 30~% used in a cold boot and stays that way for a few hours. A few hours later that number rises to 42% idle. I know windows will give up RAM if I run something that needs it but I dislike the fact it's even taking up extra for no ****ing reason.

Basically, Windows is using your free RAM to preload what it thinks you're going to use. You don't need to worry about keeping your RAM clear (and you should be able to disable it if need be.)

It's basically bad AI at its finest.

Unused RAM is wasted RAM. It's windows slowly caching things you've used on that boot so it doesn't need to keep loading the same data off your drives.

Your electrical bills must be through the roof. I shut off my PC every night. Sorry if that is just insane.

Agreed. Windows 8 hybrid shut down kicks ass.
