Pretty sad that Titanfall is already dead on PC

What did you expect from CoD lite with mechs and small maps

The maps are pretty big. I haven't played the recent CoD games but I'm pretty sure most of the Titanfall maps are bigger than most of the maps from MW2, especially given the vertical nature of them. They feel more like very large arenas from arena shooters than your run of the mill military shooter.

That's why these games need bots.

Brink had bots and I'm pretty sure it's dead.

........................

The point is once it IS dead you can still actually play it.

Games like Titanfall are "alive" for a period, then they might as well have never existed.

Playing with bots can be fun, but it's not as fun as playing with a real human player. That said, if it had modding support to allow custom maps, then both games wouldn't be dying/dead.

This is why BF4 is still so buggy. It's a lot of work spread across too many systems

Yup. 5 different platforms, and if I'm not mistaken, unlike Titanfall where they offloaded last-gen updates and tweaking to another developer, BF4 is done in house by DICE (or at least some division there of).

There's a lot of shortcomings and restrictions put upon the game due to the older platforms. The 360 has a requirement of maintaining stable play on a 40kbit/s up/downstream connection (And this limitation is copy-pasted into PC/Current gen play); And the old consoles didn't even have enough RAM for them to design the Riot Shield from the upcoming DLC the way they wanted.

Great game, but the absolutely god-awful matchmaking did a serious number on it's long term appeal.

Titanall was never popular on PC to begin with. COD clones and COD games are not popular with the PC crowd, mainly because arcadey games are no that popular with PC gamers.

I can see not liking Titanfall. It's far from perfect.

But it's not a CoD clone. It's not even similar, outside of being an FPS with iron sights.

It isn't just copy and pasted. It's probably integral to the system because of how many states need to be synced. For example, they made a big deal about how the waves on large water maps are synced for all players on a server.

To be honest though, I doubt that it's any better for the X1 and PS4. The 40kbps requirement only accounts for internet connections, so I doubt this requirement changed from the 360 to the X1.

Titanfall is the biggest farce in gaming in a while. The gameplay is that of a dumbed down shooter, the graphics are unimpressive and there is no depth to the endgame.

It's 20 bucks worth of game being sold for 60 bucks. No wonder it's flopping on PC and it didn't help make the Xbone sell better. Even an idiot can see through the marketing BS and realize this game is seriously lacking.

Please explain how it's a dumbed down shooter?

I forgot the exact figure, but I believe the X1's minimum internet requirement is a few times higher than the 360's. Trying to track down where I heard it listed, but I've seen so many videos referencing this it's proving difficult.

One place I've seen the TCR requirement for the 360 detailed.

Regardless, the 40kbps rate severely limits the amount and frequency of data being sent back and forth. As it stands, BF4 sends data to the server at 30hz, and receives at 10hz.
